Ooty Botanical Garden is laid out in 1847. This garden is maintained by the Horticulture department Tamilnadu. This is spread an area of 22 hectares. The Ooty Botanical Garden at present is having 650 species of plants and trees, including fossil of a tree, which is more than 20 million years old.
Ooty lake was built in 1825 and is 2.5 kilometer long. Boating is available in the lake and fishing can be done.
The Dodabetta Peak is at an altitude of 2,623 meters. It is the highest point in Ooty, making it possibly the best vantage point around Ooty. It is 10 kilometer from Ooty. Beautiful view of the valley from here.

Kodanadu's View Point
Kodanadu is about 16 kilometer from Kotagiri, and is situated on the eastern edge of the Nilgiri range. We will get a breathtaking view of the Moyar river and the tea estates. From the watchtower here that offers a view of the Rangasamy peak.
Madumalai Wildlife Sanctuary
The Madumalai Wildlife Sanctuary is located at 67 Kilometer from Ooty. The Wildlife Sanctuary boasts of very rich flora and fauna, and is home to many endangered species. Tiger and Leopards are a fortunate few. Elephants, giant squirrels, sambhar, chital, barking deer and flying squirrels can be visible. Also many kinds of birds, including colorful parakeets, black woodpecker, Malabar trogon and crested hawk eagle are common here.
Kotagiri is 28 kilometer from Ooty. Kotagiri is the oldest hill station in the Nilgiris. Ooty and Coonoor are the other. It is full of Tea estates.
Ooty Kalhatty Waterfalls
This is a beautiful water fall. Kalhatty waterfalls is 100 feet. The falls are about 13 kilometer from the city.
The Sim's Park is in 12 hectares and is in Upper Coonoor. This park has more than 1000 plant species, including many flowering plants, pines, ferns and shrubs.
